GM is bringing the Blazer EV to market in three different phases throughout 2023. The cheapest 2LT model will debut in the summer of that year, with the RS and SS models arriving later. These vehicles will cost between $44,995 and $65,995 before any fees or destination charges. Unlike Ford’s Mustang Mach-E, the Blazer EV will not offer a front trunk, as GM decided to focus more on rear cargo space.

The 2023 Fisker Ocean marks Henrik Fisker’s first electric SUV from his new company and will compete directly against Tesla Model Y and other popular EVs on the market.

The 2023 Fisker Ocean is an electric SUV aimed squarely at buyers of crossovers like the Hyundai Ioniq and Tesla Model Y crossovers. The Fisker Ocean may not be perfect, but it provides an intriguing alternative to some of the more established vehicles on the market. Boasting an intriguing design with plenty of quirks and long driving range, this SUV should be considered by those willing to pay more money for something less conventional than its competition. Number of Seats

The 2023 Fisker Ocean offers competitive pricing and strong range estimates, giving it every chance of becoming a market leader among all-electric SUVs. Fisker’s success with their Karma plug-in hybrid sedan also bodes well for this new model; Fisker also recently joined forces with Electrify America charging network and installed solar panels on top models One and Extreme models to supplement power production on-board.

There will be three versions of the Ocean available, starting with its front-wheel-drive Sport version with its smaller battery at $37,4999 – placing it directly in price competition with vehicles such as Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, Ford Mustang Mach-E, and Volkswagen ID.4. Upgraded batteries found in higher-spec One and Extreme models provide increased power and torque; giving an estimated 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds and top speed of 205 mph respectively.

The Fisker Ocean’s interior appears to take cues from Tesla, with a large 17.1-inch control panel located on the dashboard alongside a digital instrument cluster and featuring portrait and landscape modes as well as buttons for accessing high-level interface functions.

Fisker claims its new SUV is intended to be “the world’s most sustainable vehicle,” with recycled materials like plastics being utilized throughout construction. They have also promised eye-catching tech features like heads-up displays and Karaoke mode that allows drivers to sing along to music played through the audio system in their car.

Although not much information about the Ocean’s cabin is yet available, we know it will feature a state-of-the-art infotainment system with a widescreen display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, built-in navigation, a premium sound system with 11 speakers, and more. In addition, company representatives hinted that additional technology, such as telematics, may also be included – like tracking driving habits to optimize fuel efficiency.

The Fisker Ocean will go into production at Magna Steyr’s carbon-neutral factory in Austria in November 2021 and start arriving to customers starting early 2023. You can reserve one with a $250 deposit on its website or lease one for $379 a month with a 30,000-mile allowance and return policy that allows for returns at any time.

This unique feature will allow drivers to view various vehicle data and settings simultaneously while supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A premium Harman Kardon eight-speaker audio system will also be featured, and all models will include 4G connectivity.

Solar roofs are an integral feature of the Ocean’s design, as introduced first with Karma electric car by Tesla. Their production can help extend the range daily depending on local climate conditions and sunlight availability; their contribution will ultimately depend on how much energy can be produced locally.

According to its maker Fisker Automotive, the Fisker Ocean will be constructed from recycled materials, making it “the world’s most sustainable vehicle”. While this may sound ambitious, we shall see whether or not its promise can be upheld.

Exterior

The 2023 Fisker Ocean is an exquisite electric vehicle with unique features. For instance, its roof panel retracts at the push of a button while all windows open and close automatically for an open-air experience. Inside, the Equinox EV will feel just as functional as its gas-powered counterparts. Even the entry-level 1LT trim level will feature a digital instrument cluster and an 11-inch infotainment screen. Moving up to the 2LT, 3LT, and RS versions will unlock a 17.7-inch infotainment display and a wealth of additional comfort and safety features.

Chevrolet is aiming to overtake Tesla as the world’s leading EV maker, and that requires a strong portfolio of attractive models that can compete with Elon Musk’s offerings. Fiat will offer an all-electric version of its 500 hatchback for North America starting in 2024. To celebrate, the company brought a trio of fashion-inspired special editions to this year’s LA Auto Show.

Stellantis’ model features a 117-hp electric motor and a battery that offers up to 199 miles of range. It’ll likely get the same driving dynamics as the traditional model, too.

Price

With gas prices on the rise and high-profile drivers like Leonardo DiCaprio calling for an end to fossil fuels, it seems a good time for Fiat to make another play at winning over American buyers with an EV. The brand isn’t revealing much about the new 2024 500e, but it will likely use the same platform as the electric version of the car that debuted in Europe this year.

In that model, a front-mounted motor produces 117 horsepower and 220 Newton meters (162 pound-feet) of torque. A more potent Abarth variant will also premiere later this year, but we’re not sure whether the US will get it.

The battery pack in the 500e will offer up to 199 miles of driving range per the European WLTP cycle’s estimates. That’s a hard number to beat in the real world, though, and we expect to see a more practical 150-mile figure from the North American-bound 500e.

As with the gas-powered 500 that relaunched Fiat in the US, this tiny electric vehicle will be sold with an extensive roster of standard technology and safety features. The 2024 500e will offer Level 2 autonomy, which allows the driver to operate the car in certain situations using steering assist and adaptive cruise control. In addition, the 500e will include a wide array of passive safety measures to help it earn 4 out of 5 stars in Euro NCAP crash tests.

Fiat has a strong history with small cars, so it makes sense that it would bring its diminutive electric 500 back to North America. This new model isn’t just an efficient commuter — it’s also a fashionable accessory, with little nods to the brand’s Italian heritage all over the interior.

Stellantis’ Fiat division hasn’t been a major player in the American EV market, but it thinks the 500e can change that. It will be available in select cities starting in early 2024 and will be offered through a virtual showroom called the Metaverse Store.

To help draw attention to the 500e, Stellantis has tweaked the exterior a bit with new front and rear fascias, as well as unique wheels. Inside, the 500e gets a floating 10-inch infotainment screen running its own version of uConnect. A wireless phone charger and USB power ports sit on a pad under the display, while drive controls are down low and easy to reach. Fiat will also offer a variety of interior colors and trim levels.

Battery

Fiat hasn’t released a full list of the 2024 500e’s standard and optional features, but it seems likely to come with a large 10.3-inch infotainment touchscreen that runs Uconnect 5. A digital gauge display is also probably on the menu.

The 500e’s battery is rated at 42 kWh, which gives it a driving range of up to 199 miles. That’s better than the circa-130-mile range of the Mini Electric and Honda EV, as well as the 160-mile figure of the VW e-Up. In Sherpa mode (which switches off air-con and limits power and top speed, as well as triggering one-pedal driving), Fiat says you can stretch the range to around 280 miles.

You can also plug the 500e into a Level 3 DC fast charger and get an 80% charge in about 30 minutes. On a regular home AC plug, it takes about 6 hours to go from empty to fully charged.

The subcompact EV market is crowded with offerings from the likes of the Chevrolet Bolt, Hyundai Kona, and Nissan Leaf, so the big question for this car will be how much it costs, how quickly it can accelerate, and how good its battery life is.
